Paul specialises in both conflict avoidance and dispute resolution, providing you with the expert strategic advice you need to protect your position. Paul’s background as a Chartered Quantity Surveyor and Contracts Administrator underpins the service he provides as a Partner at Edge Consult.

Paul has acted as Party Representative in numerous adjudication proceedings, both referring and responding to disputes. This means he can provide a ‘one stop shop’ service, preparing your assessment as a construction professional and then representing you in the adjudication.

Paul has obtained a RICS Expert Witness Certificate and is often called upon to provide Expert Witness Reports on valuation, payment, and contract administration issues. Whilst such Reports may be an essential part of any proceedings, they may also be useful in establishing a realistic position for use in a negotiation or meditation, possibly avoiding formal proceedings.

Paul’s clients include building employers, both corporate and domestic, main contractors, sub-contractors, and consultants. This provides Paul with a good practical understanding of issues faced by both parties to a dispute, whether in conflict avoidance, or where a formal dispute arises.

Should Paul work on your project, you can be assured of a practical, thorough, and conscientious approach to assisting you with your contract or payment issues.

Paul uses his experience as an Employer’s Agent, Cost Consultant and Dispute Resolution Consultant to provide Employers, Contractors and Sub-Contractors with practical support and assistance.

Paul’s natural inclination is to assist at an early stage to minimise the risk of a dispute escalating. However, should a dispute become unavoidable he will provide you with the expertise necessary in dealing with the contractual and quantum support needed. This could be either pursuing or defending against claims for additional recovery.

Paul has worked on a wide range of construction projects over the years, from commercial management on the huge Bluewater, Kent retail development, dispute resolution on a hotel resort project in St Lucia to more earthy projects such as the restoration of a landfill site. No job is too glamorous!

Should Paul work on your project, you can be assured of a practical, thorough and conscientious approach to assisting you with your contract problems.
